The day of the funeral wasn’t any better I couldn’t stop crying… Keith was my best friend, one of the lads that took me in and taught me how to play the guitar… he was like a big brother to me and I was like a second sister to him all the memories came flooding back as I stood in the pouring Oh Keith” there wasn’t a dry eye in the room. Treena, the lads, and Meagan arrived with Sharon close behind we all sat down and Neil and Ryan sat beside me along with Damian once everyone was seated Treena stood up and said “thank you everyone for being here on such a short notice… I unfortunately have some bad news” Treena started to cry “Keith passed away this morning … he was in a surfing accident… pronounced dead at the hospital they tried to bring him back but it was no use it was too late Keith was a great lad and an amazing husband to me… he will be missed I slapped my Sharon will be there soon as well” “ok, Is there… something wrong?” “im afraid so Alyssa… I’ll be there in about a half hour” “ok see you then…” we hung up and I had a gut feeling something was wrong why is it just Treena, the lads and Meagan coming over? Why not Keith too? A half hour later Was a windy Saturday morning and a storm was supposed to roll in later today I was used to it its quite typical for Ireland I was washing dishes when the phone rang I turned off the water dried my hands and said “I’ll get it!” I went and grabbed the phone and answered it “hello?.” “hey Alyssa its Treena I just wanted to let you know the lads Meagan and I are coming over…. My heart is heavy, the grief is strong I am saddened we all are, *sigh* Keith passed away yesterday… he was killed in a surfing accident the waves were just… too rough Treena told him not to go out that it’s just too dangerous but he promised he’d be alright, that promise was short lived *sob* oh Keith what will we ever do without you? I remember that phone call from Treena and the moment all the lads, Sharon, Meagan and Treena arrived I can clearly recall every moment of terror and sadness I felt….
